TONY SANDBOTHE

I’ve been a professional coach since 2006. I have always believed that the foundation of proper coaching is rooted in a passion for serving others and lifelong education. I take a lot of pride in being one of the most well educated coaches in the industry holding credentials such as W.I.T.S. CPT, ACE CPT, NSCA CPT, RKC, USAW club coach (level 1), Strong First, Starting Strength Coach, Westside Barbell Special Strength Coach, Institute of Human performance CPT, and Exercise Specialist, Bio-Force Conditioning Coach, Strength Systems International 1,2,3, Vertical diet Coach, Precision Nutrition 1, and Wenning Strength. I am currently working on my CPPS, Daru Strong Performance, and ISSA Bodybuilding Specialist certifications.  

In 2011 I opened Sandothe Strong in a 75 square foot closet with 3 clients, and a commitment to excellence.  That commitment to excellence manifests itself if the core belief of doing what is best for the client above all. Since then I’ve grown it to a 1600 square foot private strength training facility with over 100 clients. I am very proud to say our growth has been 100% word of mouth with zero online presence or marketing of any kind – only satisfied customers. I am also very proud to say we have never turned a client away because they could not afford it. I am in this to change both lives and the industry, not money. 

I am the only Strength Coach to ever hold both the prestigious Starting Strength coach and Westside Barbell special strength coach credentials at the same time.

In a previous life, I was a professional MMA fighter and kick boxer. I have also competed in Olympic weightlifting, Strongman, and currently compete in Powerlifting, taking first place the 2017 NW Record Breakers 125kg Classic RAW Division. In 2018 I made the decision to focus on aspects of my health other than performance.  I lost 90 pounds in 3.5 months and finished the year losing 111lbs total going from 310 pounds to 199. This was the 4th time losing 100 pounds.

KriSTIN SANDBOTHE

My passion for training began in 2017 after attending my first Starting Strength seminar. I have been training clients ever since.

I currently have my westside barbell credential. I have also competed in figure, and I am the current ranked nationally 5th IPF 135 pound female powerlifter holding the Oregon State Deadlift record of 157.5kg / 347pound at a bodyweight of 135.

 
 
 

 

DARIUS MARTE

I'm Darius Marte, a trainer here at Sandbothe Strong, with a background in massage therapy, holistic medicine and a passion for nutrition. I've spent years exploring the profound impact of food alternative health modalities on our overall health. Driven by curiosity and a commitment to evolving my approach, I discovered the transformative power of strength training.

My coaching philosophy is rooted in an understanding that just like medicine, when it comes to exercise there is a narrow therapeutic window. In order to establish and maintain positive adaptations we must take into account frequency of training stimulus and concentration of training stimulus.

These considerations are all encompassing and result not only in physical fitness but also mental and emotional vitality. On top of personal strength coaching, I offer meal prepping and planning at whatever level of help you need. Whether that is a customized meal plan, one on one healthy cooking classes where i not only teach you how to cook but grocery shop. To a full on meal prep service where i shop and prepare the most delicious meals based on the meal plan that not only taste great but support your recovery and training in the gym. Offering: 1,2,3 meal a day options, meals for the week. Together, we'll create a personalized plan that harmonizes strength, nutrition, and optimal health. My education includes extensive study in: Massage therapy, western linear periodization, The Conjugate Method, Bio-Mechanics, Human Anatomy and Physiology, Compassionate Communication, Super Slow Single set to failure training, Fasting, Eagle Claw Kung Fu, Goju Ryu Karate, Boxing, and Muay Thai. I always have a white belt mentality and strive to bring the knowledge I learn to my clients.
